There’s Lots More to Discuss

Here are some additional aspects of children’s extremely intense interests that I could discuss, if only I had more space (and more expertise):

  • Interests can play a big role in children’s identity formation.
  • Parents can use even the narrowest of interests to introduce their children to the larger world.
  • Occupational therapists (and other therapists) can incorporate children’s interests into their therapies.
  • Parents and teachers can tap into children’s interests to engage them with their school work.

Are there any other questions I should pursue about children’s extreme interests? If so, please write them in the Comments section, below, or email me at eric@saltthesandbox.org.
